A latency period of as much as thirty years has been observed between exposure to asbestos, for example, and incidence of lung cancer.

MYTH AND FACTS ABOUT TOBACCO

 

A myth is that smoking is not a drug problem, but we know that’s not true. In tobacco you can find nicotine that is very addictive. Nicotine addiction has been compared To cocaine and heroin addiction. Also it may cause withdrawal symptoms such as irritability, insomnia, and nervousness.

 

Another myth is that only adults smoke cigarettes, but that is definitely not true. 13 is the average age a person may begin smoking. Smokeless/ spit tobacco users usually begin around 12-25. most new tobacco users are not adults, but they are adolescents.

 

one myth states that once you get addicted to tobacco, there is no use in trying to quit using, the damage is done. but, the body starts repairing itself immediately after the user quits.

 

this myth says “smoking helps my body to relax.” Which, is also not true at all. there is a stimulant  called nicotine. No other drug keeps a user as busy as smoking does.

“smoking will help me lose weight, or I will gain weight if i quit smoking.” but, about 1/3 gain weight, about 1/3 lose weight, but it also is much healthier to properly lose/gain weight.

 

Tobacco is 90% started at age 12, and that is a fact.
